Very high battery use - sgiff-daemon
I have an S5 and the battery life has always been reasonable. Over the last few weeks this has changed. My battery does not get me through a day. Looking at the battery usage app ‘sgiff_daemon’ is the top power user - using 41% so far today (more than everything else combined!). What does this system application do? Do I need it? In an attempt to see if the phone can live without it I have disabled it. I am not sure if it is related but S health stopped recording my steps at around the same time. Does this point to a gyro issue?
Is anyone else having this problem and are there any other solutions?
