Hello. Lollipop will not be provisioned for every device. If you are on 4.2 it's highly possible you won't get it.
If you have checked and you will get it on your device, it may still be several months, either due to the carrier, region or model.
I have a Note 3 and a Moto G factory versions and it has not been pushed.
Some will advise you to root your device and install a custom Lollipop rom if available for your device, at your own risk.
Those already on Lollipop, particularly Samsung's, are not exactly dancing in the streets, because of issues.. Just the change to a white settings theme will take getting used to for me.
I would wait until it's officially available to download for your particular device version. I would rather not get it at all.
I said the same about KitKat.
