Since my Note 10.1 GT-N8000 upgraded itself to kitkat 4.4.2 last week, screen mirroring with my samsung smart TV now does not work.

It appears to try and connect as the screen on the TV displays the message ' Connecting to GT-N8000', and then goes blank momentarily as it always would, but instead of then displaying the screen of the Note 10.1 it then resumes back to normal television.

At this point the Note 10.1 displays the message 'Unable to start Screen Mirroring because of a hardware issue'.

I have tried the Samsung Electronics - ScreenMirroring Patch app from Play Store, but this has not fixed it.

    Can anyone help?

Welcome to Android Central. Have you tried rebooting the tablet? Clearing the cache in recovery?

THE SOLUTION GIVEN BY ANDROID CENTRAL WORKED FOR ME.and I am a "GREEN Horn" .I put my SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB GT-N8000 in CWM Recovery as I had downloaded and installed this CWM recovery for the GT-N8000 before I had done my manual upgrade from 4.1.2 jelly bean to Kitkat 4.4.2 after which I got the Screen mirroring problems. I power off and booted up My upgraded kitkat 4.4.2 Samsung GT-N8000 in CWM Recovery by holding down the power button and the Volume up at the same time then released it as the screen begin to light up and navigated to the "wipe Cache partition" and "Voila" SCREEM MIRRORING WORKED after that.

I have both this GT-N8000 and the 10.1 pro ( SMT-520) and I love the GT-N8000 better as I'ts a more SOLID piece of equipment and I think the 4.4.2 kitkat upgrade I did made me fell much more in love with this flagship.

I recommend putting on the CWM recovery for the GT-N8000 device. (You can google this and find the CWM one that will work on your tablet/ phone) before wiping the Cache partition in the stock download mode, (although it is a possibility that it will work too, but I did not use this method) as in the CWM Recovery system you will get the added benefit of putting a custom rom in Zip file to the SD card and flashing them any new rom easily at some later date.

Please let me know If this helped or if I can be more helpful.
