Why do I have repeated downloads on my S3?

repeated downloads on s3

Hi I have a Samsung s3. I havent updated the software. But whilst I am downloading a file the download will reverse and start downloading again. it does this repeatedly whenever I try to download something with the stock browser. I've attempted to clear the cache in the apps manager and in 'other' downoloads. But still the problem persists. pleeease pleeease could someone help me fix this?

What happens when you use a different browser? We need to know if the problem is with the browser or the phone. (If you're out of free internal space, the download should stop, but if the browser has a bug it may keep trying to download the file over and over.)
