I try to maximize my battery life, and part of that is keeping my screen as dim as possible when it does not need to be draining my battery. With my Virgin Mobile, Samsung Galaxy S2, I keep finding that my phone has checked the "Automatic brightness" box by itself several times throughout the day. I make a point of ensuring that I have turned it off, and set my brightness to its lowest setting, only to notice that it has brightened after a couple hours. I then check the settings to see that the unchecked box has checked itself and turned on Automatic brightness. It isn't a huge deal, but it is irritating after a while. Please advise on how to stop it, if possible.

Welcome to Android Central! Does the phone have some kind of general Battery Saving mode or option that you might have turned on? If so, that option might automatically keep Automatic Brightness on.
