How can I move Word dox from my laptop to an Android phone?

The easiest way is to just connect your phone to the laptop via USB. It should appear as a media device and you can explore that just as if it were a removable USB memory stick.

Or if your laptop has Bluetooth, you could also do that. Or if you download 3rd party apps that allow data transfer, you can use those to send over WiFi (I believe Pushbullet supports this).
