Why does my screen go black when placing calls?

Hello all,

I am new to the galaxy s5 world. Recently, every time I place a call or answer a call on my phone the screen goes black and I can't click on the keypad if needed ect...
Did anyone else have such an issue?
How did you fix it?

It goes black to keep you from "cheek dialing". It should come back about half a second after you take it away from your face. If it doesn't, it's covered by the warranty - bring it to the carrier. (Unless you're using a case that's blocking the sensor - make sure it's still bad with no case.)
