Hello,
I am low on storage, and have tried using an sd card, but I can't move any apps to it! What is the purpose of it? Can someone explain the difference between internal and external storage? How do I move apps to the sd card that would have taken a lot of space in my so called "internal storage"
* I know this is a "noobie" question, but I am new to this new storage information.
- Thank you in advance, Danandroidandroid

It's mainly used to store your media files.
Depends on android device if it lets you move the apps to the SD card.
Also you can move data to SD card in the hard way, by reading forums, rooting your device, and installing certain apps that let you move 50 percent of the app data to partitioned SD card. It's quite hard to explain.

Hello. Welcome to Android Central.

You can move media like music via the music app or using a file manager app (My Files on Samsungs) to transfer docs and others. (Menu - Select - Menu - Move).
You can move some of the data of Downloaded apps in Settings - Apps /Applications Manager - SD Card or All list, open for App Info and select Move to SD Card if that app has it available.
