Why is my screen so dark when I ready my eBooks (Mid Android tablet (Ice cream Sandwich) Model M729B.)?

I have a Mid Android tablet (Ice cream Sandwich) Model M729B.

I read my ebooks on it, but now the screen has gotten so dark I can''t read the print anymore. None of the other screens are dark only where I read..we have brightened it but it has not helped. What do I do now?

Welcome to Android Central! So only the eReader app is too dark? All other apps have normal brightness? Which eReader app are you using? Do you know if it has contrast settings?
