How can I gain access to an old phone?

Unable to access an old phone

I have an old Samsung Galaxy Pop. A friend was playing around with it and entered the wrong pattern too many times, now the phone isn't allowing access unless I login with my email id and password.

This would ideally not be an issue, but it is not accepting my e-mail id and password! I am sure I am entering the right email id and the right password, because, I have only one account

It could be that it needs to be connected to the internet for it to verify the id and password, but I can not connect it to the internet without accessing it.

I would like to access some information within, if possible. Any help?

Welcome to Android Central! Is it asking specifically for your Google account credentials? If not, it might be asking for a Samsung account username and password.

Hi Diddy,

Thanks for the response. It is asking for my Google account credentials.

I tried the hard reset as a last resort, but even that is not working now.

I am fully stumped.

What do you mean that it isn't working after a hard reset? You can't even log in with your Google account from the Setup Wizard?
