    Greetings all!

I'm looking for suggestions for a tablet device that is sub $250, but has an active stylus. My son turns 6 next month, and he loves doing his homework on my surface pro 3, but I in no way can justify even the entry level one for him.

The other reason I'm going android is that he likes a lot of the games on my Nook HD+ (that is seriously long in the tooth).

Anyhow, your help will be greatly appreciated. FYI, we use onenote to do his homework as I take a picture of it, he fills it out, and we share the notebook with his teacher. It's pretty freaking ideal. I have his first grade teacher ready to just add his homework to it next year already! Die paper die!

    thanks,

Welcome to Android Central! Woot.com has a refurbished 16 GB Galaxy Note 8.0 for $189. It's an older tablet (it comes with Jellybean, and I'm not sure if it's updateable to KitKat), but it doesn have an S Pen. Samsung Note 8.0 Unlocked GSM Tablet - Computers.Woot

If it doesn't have to be an active stylus, just a "finger replacement", there are styli out there that will work with any capacitive screen, and they're not expensive (in the $5-$15 range, I seem to recall).
