After system update my contacts in the message functions are only ID'd by phone number! Why?

I just did a system update for my Galaxy S5. Besides the color options which make me
nauseous..my contacts in my message function are only visible by phone number, with no option that I can see to change it. I used to have pictures and names. Where are they? My contacts do have pictures and names.
