    What version of Android is it running and, if 4.4.2, what;'s the date of the kernel? (Some rooting methods depend on the OS or the kernel to root and will work on any phone.)

    There's no "true" method - rooting depends on finding a bug in the ROM that can be exploited to give the rooting app temporaray root. (You can't root a phone unless the app rooting it is rooted, which is about Catch 21.999.)

    The kernel date is September 2014, so there's probably no root exploit for it. (The exploit that Towel Root used was patched on June 3, 2014, and that's the last one I know of for 4.4.2.)

    hi i rooted my Kyocera Hydro C6730 with an application on windows that i downloaded.This application is called Kingo ROOT. it does work and it also unlocks the boot loader so afterwards you can install through the recovery a custom rom. I have a rom called GPE (Google play edition) which is an off brand of Android 5.0.1. its free and it also comes with all GAPPS included because the rom was created by google itself.

    I've got my c6730 rooted, but I can't find any custom recovery method that is compatible. Both CW and TWRP say they don't support the c6730. What recovery are you using?

    Simply go to the Google Play Store and search for "KingRoot". Download and install the app then there will be a button to root it. Click it and wait a few mins and it will sucessfully be rooted!

    Hi. Please exercise caution when using Kingroot to root your Kyocera c6743. A friend of mine had success rooting his phone using this method after many tries. Then, his phone was temporarily bricked. I suspect the method isn't the issue so much as the phone itself being unable to keep root. He attempted only to remove bloatware (no system apps) when the phone lost root and powered down. It had to be reset several times before it would turn back on. He also tried rooting his phone via the port method. But, his phone would not recognize the Ministro II software that he installed. Very frustrating.

    The best suggestion I can give is do some research into what make and model of phones people have had the most success with rooting, whether with or without pc, then find reliable step by step instructions to follow after you've purchased the best phone for yourself. Back up your data before attempting this. I've known people to be successful using "Kingoroot" on Android models other than the c6743. They were able to both root and keep root on their devices.

    If I, myself, was to try rooting a phone, given what I've learned, it would be on anything other than the Kyocera Hydro. This is a waste of time and any prior modding you've done.

    The problem is that you need to remove Kingoroot and replace it with SuperSU. If you reboot your device after using Kingoroot, then the device will be temporarily bricked.

    ROOT - zidroid.com/how-to-get-ride-and-replace-kinguser-with-supersu-app/

    Install the following apps:
    * KingRoot
    * Terminal Emulator
    * ES File Explorer

    Download mediafire.com/download/mxzbt42xypvn2ts/Replace_Kinguser_with_SuperSU-v2.4.zip

    Use ES File Explorer to extract `Replace_Kinguser_with_SuperSU-v2.4.zip` to the directory `/sdcard/`.

    Open Terminal Emulator, and run /sdcard/mrw/root.sh as su:
    >>su
    >>sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh

    Once prompted to update SU binary, select NORMAL, not TWRP/CWM.

    Reboot once prompted.
