After upgrade from iPhone 5 to Galaxy S 5, I cannot send messages to one of my contacts.

In my message threads, the contact shows no name, just a number. It also will not give me a box for text when I click on the thread. I have to go to the contact and click the message icon. After doing so, I can send messages and the contact name will then show in threads.

However, it only lasts for as long as the contacts are running in the background. Once it's been closed out, it will go back to not allowing outgoing messages and not showing the name.

Help? It only does it to one contact.

Assuming that you disconnected your iPhone from iMessage (if you didn't, that should be done first):

Delete the contact. Have the contact send you a text. (If the contact is using an iPhone, the text has to be marked as SMS.) Create a contact from the received text (Add to contacts). Add the name, etc. Then it should work.
