Because it's using a lot of battery.
Try clearing the system cache (in Storage in Settings).
If that doesn't work, back up everything (including any data for apps that have data, like game scores, etc,) and do a factory reset.
If that doesn't work, bring it to the carrier and ask if they can please reflash the ROM, because the update might have glitched. (You'll lose everything, but you already backed it up in the previous step, if you don't always keep your data backed up,m which you should. You can never tell when you'll drop your phone and a truck will roll over it. The truck's insurance will replace the phone, but they can't replace your files.)
