Why can't I root my LG optimus p500?

I'm trying to root my smartphone unsuccessfully. I know my p500 isn't the latest but it still works well and I would like to optimize it by installing some stuff I do not have access without root access. My computer is under ubuntu so I know this is an additional challenge. But I think I can root without using a computer. I tried lots of different ways, SuperOneClick (with the computer of my girlfriend who is under windows) , Rootmaster , Gingerbreak , iRoot , Framaroot and probably others I forget, nothing works ...

Can someone help me ?
