How do I clear emails sitting in my outbox (S4)?

Emails sitting in my outbox using S4

I am using the Galaxy S4, not able to send emails through outlook.com they sit in my outbox. I am unable to clear them. Tried using airplane mode as mentioned in the forum, hasn't worked.
Please advise

Can you login through your web browser to outlook.com and send from there. Does it go through or get hug in the outbox. What email client are you using (G-mail)?
