Why won't my S3 update past 37?

[AC Question]

My s3 wont update . It goes to 37% and crashes

My s3 isnt updating. Everytime it does and the little android guy comes suddenly another picture comes of it lying down with a red danger sign on its chest . It keeps crashing once it gets to 37%

Has the phone ever been rooted? If so, it won't update. If not, you could have a hardware failure on the motherboard. (Updating a rooted phone usually "fails" [it doesn't actually fail, it's supposed to stop if the phone shows signs of having been rooted because updating it can brick the phone] at about 25%, but the update you're doing could hit that point at 37%.)
