Why is my call cutting out?

Why is my call cutting out

During my phone calls (on my Sony xperia Z) this evening the phone line suddenly goes silent. The person I'm calling can still hear me fine but I cant hear them. Occasionally I can hear them again but after a minute the voice disappears again? Is this a common issue or has something dislodged in my phone that is affecting my phone during calls?

Hi B.diddy I am actually the person who wrote the question above, I just didnt log in at the time. Thank you. Yes I tried calling home earlier this evening and it does in fact work on speaker phone. However when I had called earlier on normal, it blanked out again. Do you have any idea why? or how to fix it?

If calls work normally on speakerphone or on a headset (either wired or Bluetooth), then there's probably a problem with the phone's earpiece. You may need to contact Sony if you're still under warranty.
