How do I repair an error message that is saying the temperature is to high and the phone is overheating when it's not (Samsung Galaxy Note 3)?

so my phone keep saying its over heating phone needs to cool down and battery temph to high and its not help

It could be a few things, but if you've been mistreating the battery (like not charging it until the phone tells you to charge it almost all the time), it's old enough that it could need replacement. (You can kill a battery in 6 months if you try hard enough.)
