How to cancel a firmware update?

A

AC Question

(I'm not sure if spilling water onto my phone is a factor but I will mention that anyway) After spilling some water on my phone, I dried out the charger and headphone ports and then decided to turn off my phone and turn it back on again. It was working fine, the water didn't seem to kill it but when I wanted to turn it on again, it automatically went to a firmware update. At the moment, it says not to disconnect it but it isn't connected in the first place and it's at 0%? Will this ruin my files (i.e. pictures, contacts, etc.) on my phone?

Notes: -I didn't ask for a firmware update, it just happened as I tried to turn my phone on again
-I never plugged my phone into my computer prior to this happening.
-The update has been at 0% for the longest time?
