Can't connect to internet even though I am connected to wifi

I am connected to wifi but can't connect to Internet. I bought this device while on holiday, and connected fine, but not able to connect to Internet now I am home. Other devices connect ok, but not this one. Have tried the quick fixes but cannot carry through, as I can't find some of the places I have to go to..I am not an I.t person, just an ordinary person trying to use Internet. Have thought of doing factory settings to take it back...but have photos on it, that I can't upload to my p.c either. Tried following instructions (there are none in the manual) but to no avail...
