Why is my Samsung Galaxy S3 not vharging with my new cable?

My old USB cable was dieing so I went to the store today to get a new one. I bought a Tzumi 6ft cord and adapter, but when I plugged my phone in, it wouldn't charge. I tried with my moms phone and it charged perfectly.

Welcome to the forums. So the cable worked in your mom's phone? You may have a bad USB port. You would probably have to get that fixed. There might be local repair shops near you, so I would call and ask for an estimate.
