I have a stock S5 on Verizon that's currently nagging me to install Lollipop. The "software update available" icon sits in the notification bar, and every few minutes or so, the "ready to install" pop-up disrupts my screen. How can I stop it? Selecting "install later" forces me to choose a time.
I'm perfectly happy on 4.4.4 and I've read enough complaints about the update, so I'd truly prefer to make this just go away until another time. Thanks for any assistance.

Long-press on upgrade screen does not work. Have tried various other approaches. Nothing helps.

With Verizon or AT&T, you have to be rooted to stop the updater. Sprint allows you to disable the updater and I'm not sure about T-mobile.
