Why hasn't my phone update yet?

I have a huawei G6-L11, the same one as my dad. He bought his one a few months after me. He has received the new upgrade, but I haven't. Why is that?

Welcome to Android Central! Was the update for a new version of Android, or was it just a maintenance update? Are you on the same carrier? Is your phone rooted? Have you compared build versions to confirm they're different?

I mean the update to lollipop. We both have the same phone, we have the same carrier and both our phones are not rooted.
How do you check the build versions? I know we both have the G6 L-11, only his is newer.

Build version is in Settings>About Phone.

Two of the same phones on the same carrier can still get the same update weeks apart. It's not regional, and it's not in any kind of chronological order.
