How do I tranfer texts from old phone to new one?

Hi, folks.

I had a problem with my Galaxy S4 Verizon sent me a new one which I received today. I would like to have all of texts from the old phone transferred onto the new one.

I believe my texts are stored on my SD card, so I tried just starting up the new phone with the old SD card in it, but that didn't do the trick. I had no texts.

Any ideas on how I can do this? Thanks.

I'm the author of this thread. Trying SMS backup and restore right now. Looks like it's going to take a while.
