How to fix Mobile network not available message?

[AC Question]

I have a Galaxy Note 2 through Verizon and yesterday my phone would not text or call out. When I text, I get a message that the text failed. When I try to call someone, I get the Mobile Network not available message.

I've restarted and that didn't work so I shut down (even removed battery).

It might be a temporary network problem, but if it persists, get your SIM card checked....it may be bad.
