    Why wouldn't it be OK? You should check with the carrier. I wouldn't think there would be any banned materials in your TV that would either prohibit it from being shipped or prevent it from being allowed to enter Australia. Their regulations parallel US regulations for shipping and import, but the carrier can confirm all of this for you.

    the person I am sitting across from in work today used to live in Sidney - she had all of her possessions including a TV and a bike shipped to her in the UK - no problems.

    I bought a factory boxed and sealed 2011 model Panasonic plasma TV in 2012.
    I had read in reviews how important it was to keep upright and I was careful as hell getting it home with the use of an Olympics minibus!

    If it's a plasma, it may cause a problem - but if it doesn't owe you much you could risk it, but then you're paying for the extra weight.

    If it is an LCD, don't bother reading this post from the beginning.
