Why can't I access my storage card with my Galaxy S5?

I want to store music on my SD card with either Spotify or Google Play Music. I have a Galaxy S5 with Lillipop and I cannot use the external SD card to store my music with either app. What is wrong with Google and Android? I have uninstalled, cleared cache, followed all tips online and I can't access the card. What is up?

You can access the SD card the same way you can access the rest of storage. It's no longer an external storage device, it's a part of the file system.

If you want to get back the way it was before KitKat you have to root the phone and run something like NextApp SDFix: KitKat Writable MicroSD (root). (Then restart.)
