How to get Sprint Iphone SIM card to read in new phone (Android) Starmobile Knight X?

I am technically challenged with phones. My friend bought me a Starmobile X (Android) from the Phillipines. It is the latest and greatest. I have a Sprint account, and trying to use the SIM from my Iphone. The phone recognises the SIM, says I am on the data plan, but I can not make phone calls, text, nor tie my email account into the phone. I can get on Facebook, but obviously want to do more with the phone... Please help!! Thank you.

1) Sprint doesn't allow you to "bring your own device", you have to use a Sprint phone.

2) I can't find specs on the phone, but since all the carriers in the Philippines use GSM, the phone is probably a GSM phone. Sprint is a CDMA carrier, so GSM phones wouldn't work on their network even if they allowed you to use your own.

You can probably use the phone on AT&T and TMobile, but you probably won't get high speed data, just voice and text. (The frequencies are different.)
