My Galaxy S5 is not rooted and is itself encrypted.
I had encrypted the SD card and phone after updating to Lollipop and a few weeks later, I received another minor update (but still at 5.0.0) and since that last update, my phone has "forgotten" that the SD is encrypted. All the apps stored on it are accessible and useable. Only my media files seem to be affected by the issue.
