My lg-g2 (VS980) suddenly shows a blank screen after flashing twrp recovery?

While flashing twrp to my VZW LG G2 all seemed well. After reboot, the phones display was all black. It appears that the backlight is on and the phone will buzz and vibrate. Obviously I cannot see what mode I'm in. I have tried all the published hard key combos without any success.

Suggestions?
