When will we have better connectivity between Fitbit and Android? What can I do now?

I have an LG Optimus Exceed 2 (Android OS 4.4.2) and a new Charge HR. Exceed 2 is a supported devices. However, call notification setup doesn't work. When I go into bluetooth to pair with the charge, it will find the device but when I click on it, it displays "pairing" underneath the device name but the pairing does not succeed. Similarly, when I go to the Fitbit application on phone, I am unable to check the box "Call Notifications": when I click, the box stays unchecked. What should I do? (Shutting down device and bluetooth did not work). Please help!!!
