I got a notificaton on my Kindle fire about an upgrade. Is this a good thing to do?

I've sometimes found upgrades mess up things that were working fine, such as with my android phone. Not sure I should do the upgrade on the Kindle. Thoughts out there?

Kindle Fire updates are usually pretty smooth. I never had acmny issues when I owned one.
