Visual Voicemail pauses and starts in speaker phone mode, loud first ring

I have an old problem and a new one that I believe are related. The old problem is the first ring when placing a call is very, very loud when using ear buds. The second ring and one is reasonable in volume. The new problem is my Visual Voicemail starts by playing in the speaker phone mode at a very loud volume and stops playing many times during playback. Each time it stops, I start it again and after a few seconds it stops again on its own. Please help

Welcome to Android Central!

Try going to settings, application manager, all app, scroll down to the visual voicemail app and clear the data. This will reset the app all the way. I'm not sure if you will lose any voicemails saved on phone.

I found this thread through a problem where the volume control would not change the volume when listening through the earpiece. Some I'm clear, it would change the volume out of the speaker and it would through the earpiece in a normal call.

I performed the same steps as above and it fixed my problem too! Thank you.
