Welcome to Android Central! You mean you encrypted the phone, and forgot the password? The way you resolve it is by doing a factory reset, which will unfortunately wipe all of your data--encryption is irreversible. If you encrypted the phone, presumably you wanted to keep your data very secure. So anyone who doesn't know the password (including if you forgot it) won't be able to access the data.

In the future, if you're prone to forgetting crucial information like passwords, I suggest writing them down (physically, with pen on paper) and keeping them safe somewhere at home.

Or use a password program with good security (AES, at least) and keeping the data file on a couple of different SD cards or thumb drives. (And checking them periodically, so if one goes, you have the other one to make a copy on the new card or drive. Keeping them in different places, like one at home and one at the office, guarantees against the building [either one] burning down too.)
