Having pairing problems with garagemate using Bluetooth4.0

When I go to pair the reciever with my moto X it refuses to pair using either 1234 or 0000 for a password. I have done a factory reset and cleared the app log and retried with no sucess. Any other passwords that might work?

Those are the default pins for the Moto X. Is the Gragemate asking for permission to the Moto X?
