Will this make my hotspot faster?

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Avant, I don't think that matters. Anyway I have metro pcs and I have hotspot but it's really slow and data runs out fast. I went to a metro pcs srore and asked the guy what I could do about it and he recommended that I get a hdmi cable cord from radioshack instead of upgrading my plan because they don't give you that many gbs. I couldn't really understand him that well but what kind of cord should I get? Will it make hotspot faster?

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, but that doesn't make sense. He might have been talking about trying to tether the phone's mobile data signal to another device (like a computer) using the USB tethering function, if it has one. But that won't solve the problem of your data running out fast, because if you still want to use the phone's hotspot, it will use your data.
