    I used to be able to hold the buttons down,...often didn't even know how it was happening....then I found out about holding your hand across the screen slowly and that worked for a while really smooth...but now neither one of those actions work to get a screenshot....why?

    You can take a screen shot by holding the home button and the power button down at the same time. For the side palm swipe you need to go in to your settings and go to gestures and motion. Make sure the option is turned on.
