Anyone else experiencing issues encrypting phone to synch with Google Apps for Business?

Every time I use Google Device Policy or use the M9 enabled Encryption on the phone my device freezes upon the initial reboot. HTC support is aware of the issue and apologized for the "oversight." Is this a M9 issue as a whole? I need my phone for work and will have to return the device if I don't get more answers! Frustrating that an Android Device doesn't play nice with a Google app...
