    Greetings All!

I have just purchased my first Android device Asus TF300T with Android 4.2.1 and I need to install a good Antivirus/Malware program as well as a good system diagnostic/tools/fix program for the device.

And while I am at it, I would like to know what the most recent Android operating system is and how I can update my device with that system as well.

Thank you much for helping an IT/Android illiterate new tablet owner!

Antivirus is not needed for Android.

    File manager -FX File Explorer:

General system info - System Panel:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...pp.systempanel

    Backups - Helium (requires PC):
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ikdutta.backup

Backups - MyBackup Pro (no PC):
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...id.MyBackupPro

    RAM usage - RAM Truth:

Memory to install apps - Storage Truth:

    For updates go to:
Settings > About phone > System updates > Check for updates
That will update your phone to the latest available version of Android for your phone. Updating to even newer versions is a little work, recommended for experienced users, and may not be possible anyway.
Newest version of Android is 5.1.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply!

Do your suggestions also apply to tablets? Especially the one for updating to the newest version of the operating system as your post did say it was for "Updating your Phone"?

Like I said, I am new to Android devices and my TF300T is it. Don't even have a "Smart Phone" yet.

Yes, everything I listed applies to tablets. I didn't catch that you weren't asking about a phone.

Edit: I think you'll find this useful information also:

Again, I thank you for your patience and your information.

I can see that I have a lot to learn before I master my new device!
