Is it still okay to install OTA updates? (Stock rom,bootloader unlocked

So I just unlocked the bootloader of my moto g (2014/xt1068) and downgraded it to stock kitkat because I didn't like the new update (5.0.2) and I'm waiting for official 5.1. I'm leaving the bootloader unlocked because it's giving me errors when I try to relock it but I'm still receiving OTA updates.

Is it safe to install future OTA updates with the bootloader unlocked?
