Welcome to Android Central! It doesn't really matter what the max amperage on the charger is, because the phone will decide how much current it will draw. In general, the phone won't draw any more than its battery's mAh rating. So in other words, if the battery has a 3000 mAh rating, it will draw a max current of 3 A.
