The only other carrier it would work on electronically is Verizon. But Verizon won't allow a Sprint phone on their network.

"Lock", when referring to a phone, means that it won't accept a SIM card from another carrier for network access. Since Sprint and Verizon phones don't use SIM cards, they can't be locked - so they can't be unlocked. The carrier determines which phones can access their towers, so the "lock" is the fact that your phone's ESN number isn't in Verizon's database, and there's nothing you can do about that.

Since the phone is CDMA, not GSM, it won't even see AT&T or TMobile signals, so you can't use it there either. (It sees them as noise.)

Bottom line is that a Sprint phone can only be used on Sprint, unless you violate the law, which we don't discuss here.
