Why am I not receiving Group MMS messages?

I just switched from an iphone 4s to a Samsung s6. I heard about the problems people had not receiving messages from other iphone users once they switched to Androids. This happened to me at first, but then I went to some Apple website to deregister my imessage. Now I can receive texts from individual iphone users, but if I try to send a group text (MMS), or if someone sends a group text to me, I do not receive them. There have been numerous messages now that I have not received and only found out about later after checking with people. Any idea what is going on or how I can fix it?
