How to stop an SMS-initiated download?

Hi,

Text yesterday with a "Download" button. Half asleep I recognised my sister's number and hit "download"... then realised it isn't my sister's number so hit flight mode to stop it.

Came out of flight mode this morning, download restarted.
Turned phone off, then on. Download restarted. Went back to flight mode.
Took advice, went to download manager, stopped it, cleared all the data.

Took flight mode off. No download.

Brill.

8 hours later the download re-started. Repeated download manager stop & clear data and it's stopped. But is clearly capable of re-starting to may do so.

Short of a factory reset anyone know how I could prevent this download?

Welcome to Android Central! How long is it taking to download whatever was in that MMS message? It shouldn't take much longer than a few seconds. Does it keep downloading the same thing repeatedly? Is it a photo or a group text?

I would just try to delete that whole conversation.
