My HTC ONE doesn't read my micro SD card.

AC Question

Hello,

I have an HTC ONE that runs Android 4.4
I just got a micro SD card, HC, 32 gigs, class 10.
The phone won't read my card.
So far, the most common solution seems to involve obtaining root access.
However, if I void my warranty, and it still won't fix the problem,
then I can't take it in to get fixed.
What do I do?

1) HTC doesn't void the warranty for rooting (unless rooting caused the problem you're trying to get fixed under warranty).

2) Not reading the card has nothing to do with rooting. Put the card into a card reader and see if your computer can read it. If not, the card is bad. (If it's a SanDisk, go to SanDisk Online RMA Request, fill out the form and get it replaced.) If the computer can read it, the phone may have a bad SD card port or there may be a problem with the phone's firmware.

@Deborah:
If the phone won't read the SIM card, you won't get 4G, so it's the same problem. Bring the phone into the carrier and have them check it. (You might just need a new SIM card.)

Try the card in a computer to determine if it's the card or the phone. If a computer won't read it either, it's the card.

Tried it with a different phone. It worked normal. I don't understand how phone stopped reading the SD card. I was taking video of my friend suddenly it stopped taking the video and SD card was unmounted.
