I bought a replacement USB port for my Note 3 from Amazon last week; while the charging function has been restored this particular piece is of less than desirable quality as my signal quality is MUCH impaired. I can't place/receive calls 90% of the time and data connectivity has been affected as well. I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of a quality piece before I spend time and money buying multiple USB ports until I obtain a good one.

I haven't tried contacting them yet. I called the local AT&T store among other independent cell phone repairs but they all do not sell the parts for DIY, but did offer to charge me $85+ to replace the component.

The USB port has absolutely nothing to do with calls. You probably moved the antenna lead (positioning changes of 1mm make a difference at some of the frequencies phones use) or didn't align the contact properly when you put the phone together. Removing the USB port altogether wouldn't affect the call or data quality.
