can you stop certain apps on the droid turbo

I have,, a droid turbo,,,can you stop apps on the phone that you do not use to save memory space and battery life,,and which ones! I don't want to stop the wrong apps

You can stop any app, but that doesn't save memory (it might save battery). The ones it's safe to freeze (you don't remove them first, you freeze them to make sure the phone will keep working without them) are the Motorola apps and the carrier apps. (And you have to root the phone to do that - which voids the warranty.)

Except the Motorola apps are actually useful and really make the phone what it is (besides the battery).
