Why won't my Moto X charge or power on?

Moto X won't charge or power on.

My Moto X died and now won't charge or power on. When it's plugged in I get the charging/0% screen flashing on and off. I've tried all the button push sequences suggested on other threads. Those do nothing or give me a selection screen where I can scroll down using the volume button to choose "Normal Powerup-Recovery-Factory-Barcodes-BP Tools." When the phone is plugged into my laptop and I choose "Normal Powerup" from this screen, the phone seems to reboot (goes through spinning globe screens & Verizon screen) but then powers down immediately from the home screen. And I get this weird green light at the top of the phone that I've never seen before... Help!

Welcome to Android Central! Try leaving it plugged into a wall outlet for at least 4-6 hours undisturbed before trying to power up again. If it is still having problems, try selecting Recovery in that menu and then wipe cache partition.
